The Cross Country season runs from mid-August through mid-October. Cross Country is offered for third through eighth grade boys and girls. Registration takes place in August.

Practice days and times are determined by the coaches and are usually held two to three days per week after school and/or Saturday mornings. Participants are expected to attend at least one practice per week in order to participate in meets. Practices will begin in the Notre Dame de Sion Grade School parking lot and running routes include surrounding safe neighborhood streets and parks.

There are three to four meets per season. Meets are held at local Catholic high schools in the Kansas City area usually on Tuesday evenings. Cross country distances are as follows for each grade level:

• 3rd and 4th Grade Girls & Boys – 0.75 mile/1.2 K
• 5th and 6th Grade Girls & Boys – 1.0 mile/1.6K
• 7th and 8th Grade Girls & Boys – 1.5 miles/2.4 K

Sion Athletics lends the uniform shirt and students may wear black or purple athletic shorts with it.

Sion Grade School participates in CYO/PLKC Girls Flag Football League. The season runs mid-March through late-May and is offered to third through eighth grade girls. Registration takes place in February and March.

Practice days and times are determined by the coaches and are usually held two days per week after school at Gillham Park. Games are played at Kansas Catholic Schools on Saturdays.

This is a 7 versus 7 league. Sion provides the uniform shirt and flags; players' families are responsible for providing shorts and optional cleats and mouthguard.

Sion Athletics offers volleyball seasons for both boys and girls. The Girls Volleyball season takes place mid-August through the end of October and is open to third through eighth grade girls. The Boys Volleyball season takes place from late March through mid-May and is open to third through eighth grade boys. Registration takes place in August for Girls Volleyball and in March for Boys Volleyball.

Typically we have one team per grade level. In some cases the number of interested athletes per grade dictates that we will need multiple teams for a given grade level or we will need to combine grades to form one or more teams.

Practices are held in the Notre Dame de Sion Grade School gym. Practice days and times are scheduled based on gym and coach availability. Third grade teams practice once per week; fourth through eighth grade teams practice twice per week.

Games are held at Catholic schools in the Kansas City area, including Sion Grade School, and game days vary depending on grade and gender:

• 3rd-6th grade girls compete on Saturdays
• 7th-8th grade girls compete on Tuesday and Thursday nights
• Boys volleyball competes Friday nights

The uniform is a volleyball jersey and black, loose-fitting shorts. Sion Athletics lends the jersey and the athletes’ families are responsible for purchasing shorts and knee pads.

The Track season takes place from mid-March through mid-May and is offered to third through eighth grade boys and girls. Registration takes place in March.
