A Message from the Principal

Notre Dame de Sion High School for Girls holds a singular place in Kansas City's educational landscape.

We are Catholic and interfaith, and traditional college prep with experiential learning. In the tradition of the Sisters of Sion, we foster a creative atmosphere where open dialogue, curiosity, and questioning are infused with our core values of love, respect, openness, connection, and hope. Sion girls dig into the tough issues facing our society, learn to navigate ambiguity, and develop the agency to act on what speaks to their hearts.

I walked these halls as a student long before I ever imagined leading them, and I know firsthand what it means to find your people here, to be challenged here, and to leave ready to take on the world. That's the gift I want for every young woman who walks through our doors.

Sisterhood here isn't a slogan, it's a daily reality: upperclassmen mentoring freshmen, teammates pushing each other to be better, and a community of women who show up for one another long after graduation. Once you're a Sion girl, you're a Sion girl for life.

That same spirit of connection drives how we teach. Alongside our classical college prep curriculum, Sion's deep dives harness the power of experiential learning by partnering with local organizations and tackling real-world problems so students build leadership skills through doing, not just studying.

Our intentionally small class size lets us know each student and shape experiences around her goals. Sion is small but never limited: extracurriculars span athletics, arts, technology, service, ministry, international travel, and advocacy, helping students become well-rounded individuals, faith-filled global citizens, and servant leaders.

Relationships are foundational to everything we do here. Our dedicated faculty, coaches, and administration nurture students in the classroom, stage, field, court, and advisory, with humility and humanity. We value the identity of each individual and the distinctiveness of each group, and we work to ensure every member of our community feels they belong.

As an alumna returning to lead the school that shaped me, I carry a deep, personal love for the mission and vision that is Sion. I look forward to welcoming you, and your daughter, into our community.

Vive Sion!
