The $4.1M science wing was the first of a multi-phased comprehensive campaign partnering with Turner Construction and Gould Evans. Sion has made great strides in elevating our academic approach, including forward-thinking experiential learning. The impetus for the renovation was to match our school environment to the quality and innovation of our academic programming. The science wing was operational in Fall 2022 and was designed based on feedback we gathered directly from students to center on community-building. These spaces were designed to connect to nature, light and outdoors, elevate STEM participation and create gathering and social spaces that match the strong sense of community at Sion.

2022 STEAM SUMMER INTERNSHIP AND CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Sion believes that moments of significant learning are achieved through experiences that allow students to connect to the real world, assert their independence, embrace ambiguity, and change their perception of the world. This is a perfect example of experiential learning in action! Eight High School students were selected to work with Notre Dame de Sion High School and Turner Construction Company on a STEAM and Marketing Summer Internship during the construction process.
