    • a labeled water bottle
    • a labeled, packed lunch from home (full day camps only)
    • comfortable clothing/shoes
    • a clear understanding of the Camper Behavior Expectations (listed above)
    • an eager heart to learn new things and a positive, servant-leader attitude!

Each student will receive a snack every day of camp and a camp t-shirt on their first day. Campers are encouraged to wear their shirts as often as they’d like to show their excitement for being at Summer At Sion, but will be asked to wear them specifically on T-shirt Tuesdays for camp photos. If your student has a food-related allergy or sensitivity, we encourage those campers to plan to bring their own snacks with them each day to avoid any potential cross-contamination with what we plan to offer week-to-week.
For rising 9th graders and students currently enrolled at Notre Dame de Sion High School, we offer both athletic camps with our high school coaches and academic readiness camps to assist with honing skills for the next chapter. Course information and registration can be found within each camp description below.

  • High School Bridge Program

Notre Dame de Sion has provided an exemplary academic program to young women in the Kansas City area for over 110 years! We are thrilled to welcome the Class of 2029 to be part of this tradition. To ensure a smooth academic transition from middle school to high school, Sion offers the High School Bridge Program. This program is designed to equip incoming 9th graders with the tools they need to navigate a new academic environment and familiarize themselves with the rigor of the Sion curriculum.  In the English course, students will complete one of the required summer reading novels and will produce a written response to the literature. For both classes, a written evaluation of each student will be provided to the parents at the end of the session. These evaluations will be used as a tool in supporting students in the upcoming year. Attendance is important. Students are allowed to miss no more than two class periods. Students must be part of the incoming Sion High School 9th grade to enroll.

  • College Application Workshop

A half-day bootcamp aimed at helping seniors complete and submit
their college applications. Whether you plan to submit the Common Application to several colleges or apply directly to your schools using college-specific apps, you’ll receive the support you need to sit down and confidently complete your applications. Counselors will help guide you through each section of the Common App and will be on hand to answer questions as you navigate each
    application.

Note: unlike the College Essay & Resume Clinic, there will not be
time during the workshop to write (or receive feedback on) your
Common App essay or other required personal statements.

The College Application Bootcamp will be facilitated by Sion’s college counselors, Erin Hughes and Heather Henning. Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Henning bring a collective 16 years of college admission and 24 years of college counseling experience. In their roles at William Jewell College (Hughes) and the University of Missouri (Henning), they reviewed countless applications and are well equipped to guide students through the application completion and submission process.

Students must bring their own laptops to the workshop and come ready to work on their list of college applications. The bootcamp is open to both Sion and non-Sion students in the class of 2026. Space is limited and spots are given on a first-come basis.

  • College Essay Writing Clinic

Summer is the ideal time to prepare for senior year and reflect on
life beyond graduation without the commitments, distractions and
workload of the school year. Take time to hone your “voice” through
the writing process and receive constructive feedback on your
essay; reflect on “fit” in the college search process, and gain
valuable information on the college app/admission process.

By the end of the class, students will have:
    - A final draft of your Common App college essay
    - A final draft of your activities/leadership resume
    - A greater understanding of the college app process & timeline
    - An introduction to the Common App & tips for completing it
    - An organized list of colleges, application requirements &
    deadlines

Sessions are limited and spots are given on a first-come basis.  Priority is given to students currently enrolled at Sion, but students from other schools may apply.

**Because this course fills and typically has a waitlist, cancellations after certain dates will not be refunded.
