Planned Giving

The Ratisbonne Society

In 2003, Sion established the Ratisbonne Society to recognize our donors who choose to make long-range plans providing future financial resources for Notre Dame de Sion Schools of Kansas City. In a very real sense, members of the Ratisbonne Society can be considered a group of dedicated and thoughtful investors — people who have, through their estate plans, invested in Sion’s future as a leading Catholic, an independent educational institution in Kansas City. More than 30 generous donors have become members of the Ratisbonne Society to date and made arrangements with Sion to provide this loving and lasting legacy for our schools.

There are a number of planned giving options to include Notre Dame de Sion Schools of Kansas City in your estate plans that also enhance your personal well being while providing for Sion’s future. Some of these include:

· Bequest in your will
· Charitable gift annuity
· Charitable remainder trust
· Beneficiary designations of your retirement assets
· Beneficiary designation of an insurance policy

But the most important aspect of a planned gift to Sion is the knowledge that you are making a commitment to the Mission of the Sisters of Sion and Notre Dame de Sion Schools of Kansas City. You may have included Sion in your estate plans without notifying us. Naturally, we will respect the wishes of those choosing to remain anonymous but we can also honor your request for privacy while noting your plans in our strategic financial planning for the future. Either way, we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to express our gratitude and would welcome anyone to participate as a new member of the Ratisbonne Society at any time.

Many donors ask us about the proper way to designate Sion in their estate plans. To ensure your gift is received by Notre Dame de Sion Schools of Kansas City, please use our legal name, Notre Dame de Sion School of Kansas City (Federal ID# 43-1550474).

For more information on which option is best for you, please consult your financial planner. If you have questions for our Advancement Office, or would like further information, please contact SupportSion@ndsion.edu.
