Weekly Offerings
Before and After Care (EDP)
Need coverage before and after camp? We’ve got you covered. Sign your student up for Morning and/or Afternoon EDP to enjoy some extra fun in the sun. Morning EDP is from 8:00-9:00am. Afternoon EDP is from 4:00-5:00pm. Students picked up later than 5:00pm will be subject to additional fees. A minimum of 6 students must be signed up for EDP to take place.

Petite Adventures
Led by Ms. Audrey Smith and Ms. Madi Muenks, Petite Adventures in the sun is ideally suited to meet the developmental needs of two-year-olds before transitioning to our Montessori classrooms. Students must be 2 years old on their first day of camp. *Petite Adventures must have a minimum of 3 students per week signed up.

Montessori Adventures
Led by our esteemed Montessori Faculty, Sion Summer Adventures in Montessori allows your child to join mini-communities of 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Classes will be capped at 12 students per teacher. A minimum of 6 students must be signed up for camp to take place. Students will be supported in an atmosphere of calm, order, and joy as our trained instructors encourage students to actively engage in age-appropriate curriculum. Students must be fully potty-trained to be eligible for this class.

Swimming
Led by our summer swim instructor, Ms. Dunlop, students will have the opportunity to brush up on their swimming skills over the summer in Sion’s pool. Due to the nature of the class, all swim classes will be capped at 6 students. Ms. Dunlop will meet each student where they are at in their water abilities and teach new skills to get your student to the next level. Classes will be weekly over the course of 6 weeks. Be sure to sign your child up for the correct swim day based on age.
**An adult must be present the entire time the swim class is taking place. Parents/guardians will be responsible for getting students in and out of their swim gear. Locker rooms will be available for use.

Fridays: 7 and above

Storybook Corner
Join Mrs. Collins for a week of fun with stories! Students will be introduced to the latest children’s literature and enjoy a week immersing themselves in lands far and wide. There’s no better way to kick off your summer than with a fantastic book! This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Under the Sea
Take a dive down deep with Mrs. Bowman to learn more about the ocean and all it has to offer! This ocean-themed camp will take you on an adventure you won’t want to miss. Join us for a week of sea creatures, water splash downs, and more! This class is capped at 12 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Decimal Detectives
Enjoy a week of engaging math practice that is sure to lift your spirits AND your skills! Students in this class will learn new math skills and apply them to fun activities such as building, creating, and developing games. This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Boomwhackers and Bells
Come make some sweet summertime music with our favorite music teacher, Mrs. Stafford! In this class, students will learn the basics of note reading, play fun music games, and create performances that will be music to your ears. This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Come enjoy in-person music learning at Sion! Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Chess
Learn Chess from the best! We are excited to welcome the Kansas City Chess Club back to Sion for another exciting week of Chess. Join Mr. Fee and the KC Chess Club team in a week of improving your chess skills, learning some new moves, and having fun! This class is open to chess players of all levels. This class must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Puppet Theater
Mrs. Stanley is excited to bring puppet theater to Sion! Students will not only create and write their own puppet show, they will also create their own puppets to perform the whole thing! This class beautifully intertwines drama with creative art techniques while also brushing up on those reading and writing skills. Parents can plan to join us for the final production on Friday June 17th at 3:30pm. This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

All About Instruments
Come on a music adventure with Mrs. Stafford for a week you will surely never forget. During this camp students will be exposed to and learn how to play new instruments, sing new songs, and learn how instruments are made. This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Space Aliens
Are you ready to take a trip to Outer Space? No need to be friends with Bezos for this one- we’ve got Bowman! Join Mrs. Bowman for a week of space-week camp activities that will take you out of this world. This class is capped at 12 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Music Around the WorldOur world thrives on music from many cultures, genres, and artists. Mrs. Stafford is the ultimate music tour guide when it comes to Music Around the World and she is ready for you to come abroad. Join us for a week of celebrating music culture and all that the world has to offer. This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Storybook Steam
There’s no better way to enjoy some old and new stories than through the outlets of STEAM. Join Mrs. Stanley for the week and work together to learn something new from stories in the forms of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Magical Mathematicians (Remediation Focused)
Need to brush up on some math skills? Looking to enhance what you already know? This is the math camp for you! Our lead math teacher, Ms. Baskerville is offering this intervention-based math camp for students who are looking to enter the 2022-2023 school year on top. Using information from the 2022 NWEA test scores, Ms. Baskerville will personally guide your student through remediation activities that will boost your child in the exact math skills they need. This will all be done through fun, camp activities that are engaging and wildly successful! This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Mad Science
Do you love explosions? Are you interested in how things work? Do you love to learn new things? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Mad Science is for you! Join Mrs. Davis in a week filled with science experiments that are sure to knock your socks off (but not literally!). This class is capped at 16 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Come enjoy in-person science learning at Sion! Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Mandarin Chinese and Beyond
Learn from Mrs. Zhu in this week-long Chinese Culture class. Not only will your student learn some bits of Mandarin, but also be fully immersed in Chinese culture, traditions, and fitness exercises. Students will learn songs, dance, and create some Chinese art and crafts. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity you don’t want to miss! This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Drama
Join Ms. Killian for a drama-filled Students will learn about improvisation, pantomime, auditions, dancing, singing, memorization, a little bit of technical theater, and more. All classes end with a performance for family and friends. This class is capped at 16 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Baking
Do you love treats? Are you interested in science? Do you want to combine the two? Then this is the camp for you! Join Mrs. Stanley in the kitchen for a week filled with measuring, scooping, mixing, and more. Students will come home each day with a treat to enjoy! This class is capped at 8 students and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering 1st-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Kinder Bootcamp (Option 1)
Join the current Sion kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Bollinger in a week of fun and engaging activities that will get your student ready for kindergarten! Students will engage in activities in math, reading, science, social studies, art, physical activity, and more! This class is capped at 12 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. We are able to offer 2 kinder options this year to meet the needs of different family schedules. Choose the week that works best for you! Students must be entering Kindergarten to enroll in this camp.

Temple Made Fitness: Summer Camp
Join Coach Tony Temple each afternoon for a custom built fitness program for younger students. Students will be highly engaged, motivated, and active each afternoon. Each week we will focus on a different topic all while having a ton of fun! This is a great way to spend the afternoon after a morning of learning! This class is capped at 16 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Dinosaur Art
In this class, students will create art inspired by dinosaurs that roamed the Earth long ago. Students will learn how dinosaurs lived and what made them unique to other animals through both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art projects. This class will also give students insight into the field of paleontology. This class will be taught by Mrs. Schwend, who before becoming an art teacher, created large models of dinosaurs for natural history museums. This class is capped at 12 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering 1st-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Art Around the World
Art comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms. We can find art everywhere we turn. Take a spin “Around the world” with this geography art themed class. Students will learn about and recreate famous pieces of art, the artists, and the countries they originated from. There will be opportunities to read books about new places, explore the rich history, music and culture found around the world, and even try new foods! You may not be able to travel abroad this summer so we are bringing the world to you! This class is capped at 16 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

The Great Outdoors
Do you love being outside? Does fresh air and sunshine make you happy? Then this is class for you! Join Mrs. Davis on an outdoor adventure where you will learn about nature, bugs, trees, gardens, and more! This class is capped at 16 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Spanish Immersion
Come dive deep into the world of Spanish speaking! Learn all about the Spanish language, enjoy crafts and treats from the Spanish world, and pick up a new language while you're at it! This class is capped at 16 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.

Maker Camp
Maker Camp with Mrs. Stanley is a summer camp with a focus on using science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) to create, build, and discover. Every day campers learn about Makers of the past while becoming the Makers of the future. Campers will design and make projects to bring history, culture and science to life. This class is capped at 16 students per week and must have a minimum of 6 signed up to take place. Students must be entering Kindergarten-3rd grade to enroll in this camp.
