Scholarships + Financial Aid

Sion offers financial assistance and numerous scholarship opportunities for students who qualify.

  • Automatic Academic Schloarships

    Each incoming freshman that scores at or above the 90th percentile on the High
    School Placement Test (HSPT) will automatically receive an academic
    scholarship.  This scholarship is renewable each year through the student’s
    senior year, provided that she maintains the required Grade Point Average or

    99th percentile $2,000 3.75
    98-97th percentile $1,500 3.50
    96-94th percentile $750 3.25
    93-90th percentile $500 3.00
  • Merit Scholarship Information

    To apply for a merit scholarship, please send the following to Amy Drouin, Director of Advancement, at adrouin@ndsion.edu:
    • Cover letter with your name, address, phone number and name of middle school. Indicate the scholarship for which you are applying.
    • Include a one-page essay, double spaced.  
    Citizenship Scholarship
    The Citizenship Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman who exhibits outstanding citizenship and a commitment to civic duty. The essay should detail activities and personal philosophy on the topic of Citizenship.
    Community Service Scholarship
    Grounded in the Catholic mission and the tradition of the Sisters of Sion, this scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates a passion and commitment to helping others. Essay should focus on the student’s current service activities and future plans for service at Sion.
    Glenna C. Hughes Leadership Scholarship
    Named for a longtime principal of the high school, the Glenna C. Hughes Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated leadership skills in her middle school, church or community. The essay should provide examples of leadership activities as well as future goals. 

Financial Aid

  • Financial Aid

    To be considered for Financial Aid families must submit a financial aid application and supporting documentation through School and Student Services,SSS, no later than February 1st, 2019. Final decisions are determined by members of a financial aid committee. 

  • Named and Need Based Scholarships

    Numerous named and need based scholarships are awarded each year. To qualify students are required to submit an application and/or documentation demonstrating financial need. 

Tuition Reduction

  • Diocese Employment Discount

    Employees of the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph or the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas will receive a $1000 tuition reduction per family. 
  • Multi-Child Discount

    Sion offers mutli-child discounts to families with more than one student enrolled. Please contact The Office of High School Admissions for more information.
