Learning at SION

Notre Dame de Sion School is committed to preparing students to become successful 21st century global leaders and citizens by immersing them in opportunities for innovative learning. Our signature academic programs are created for students to have a personalized educational experience that provides the necessary skills and practices that enable lifelong learning and independent problem solving in a diverse and complex world.

Personalized Education

Beginning with our Montessori classrooms, inquiry-, problem-, and project-based learning enriches the daily lives of our students and is supported by our school-wide technology 1:1 program. Sion’s personalized learning approach tailors the educational experience to the unique gifts, learning preferences, needs, and interests of each student. Students are lead by a caring and dedicated faculty as they are empowered by to become confident, motivated learners throughout their educational experience at Sion.

Full STEAM Ahead

Sion’s full-time STEAM coordinators work collaboratively with teachers to use science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics as a framework to guide inquiry, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and innovation in the classroom. Our K-8 curriculum and middle school electives highlight additional learning opportunities for creativity, and innovation with both experiential and traditional classroom experiences.

Technology Integration

At Sion, the integration of technology enhances learning through developmentally appropriate tools and resources. Our faculty work one-on-one with students to engage them in experiences that enhance and enrich a traditional classroom setting and supports each individual student in their academic program. Sion students have access to their own device through our 1:1 program (iPads for grades K-4 and MacBook Airs for grades 5-8), as well robust wireless connectivity, interactive whiteboards, and full access to Google Apps for Education.Student technology experiences are aligned with the ISTE. Standards for students, allowing them to gain appropriate, authentic utilization and appreciation of technology.
