Scholar Athletes at Sion

Notre Dame de Sion High School for Girls is committed to the overall success of all our students through the intellectual, spiritual and physical wellness of every young Sion woman. The athletic program at Sion encompasses 11 different sports, along with year-round cheerleading and dance teams. Participation in Sion athletics provides students the opportunity to grow and develop valuable life lessons through teamwork, self-discipline, courage and perseverance. Our scholar-athletes strive for excellence in their given sport or activity. At the same time, they work hard to fulfill their potential in the classroom and to be role models at school and in their communities. We invite and encourage students of all grade levels and skills to get involved.

Notre Dame de Sion High School for Girls is an independent, non-conference school and is a member of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA). The school offers opportunities to compete in the following sports: softball, cross country, field hockey, volleyball, golf, tennis, basketball, swim and dive, track, soccer, and lacrosse. The Athletic Department is committed to excellence in athletics while supporting the educational mission of Notre Dame de Sion High School for Girls. Creating opportunities for girls to develop skills through individual instruction, peer interaction and competition leads our focus. We are dedicated to maintaining the high standards of good sportsmanship and conduct, and we expect our students, coaches, and families to uphold these standards and Sion values at all times.

The athletic department is grateful for the involvement, energy, and enthusiasm for our students, their families, alumnae and our extraordinary coaching staff. Thanks to all members of the Sion community for your support of the many athletic programs here at Notre Dame de Sion High School for Girls. We encourage all students to join us at our beautiful outdoor athletic complex or in our state-of the art gymnasium to find the scholar-athlete in each of you.

Sports Booster

We believe that participation in sports provides a wealth of opportunities and experiences that assist students in personal, athletic, and academic growth. As a parent/guardian of a scholar-athlete, you also have committed yourselves to certain responsibilities and obligations, which are outlined above and in our student handbook. Good sportsmanship is encouraged and expected from our fans and spectators at all times during athletic events. In addition to attending Sion sports events, you are invited and encouraged to join the Athletic Boosters and help promote the tradition of excellence associated with athletics at Notre Dame de Sion High School for Girls.

We believe athletics is an integral part of the high school educational experience, both as a competitor and spectator. We look forward to working with you and to supporting your daughter as they participate in their chosen sport.
