Grade School FAQ's
What does a shadow day consist of?
A shadow day is a whole day shadowing the grade you are currently in. Typically, you will shadow from 8:30 - 3:00 pm. You will set up a day with the Admission Director at the Grade School.
What are the school's hours?
You can drop off as early as 7:30 am. School hours are from 8:00-3:15 for Early Childhood and 8:00-3:30 for K- 8.
Do you have an after school program?Sion's extended day program (EDP) runs every day until 6:00 pm.

What foreign languages are offered at Sion?
Students start French in our Petite (2 yr old) classroom.
In 4th Grade, students will have a semester of French and a semester of Spanish.
In 5th grade, students choose either French or Spanish through Middle School.
Mandarin and Russian are offered in after school Academies.
Is there a discount for multiple siblings?
Our multi-child discount is:
15% for the second child
25% for the third child
35% for the fourth child
Are you affiliated with a certain parish?
As an independent Catholic school, we are not affiliated with a parish. Following the guidelines of the Diocese of Kansas City/St. Joseph, Catholic students will receive all sacramental preparation at their home parish.
Is there an admissions test?
All applicants from grade K-8 will take an admissions test.
Are siblings guaranteed admission?
Sion offers priority placement for siblings and also must complete the same process, including admissions testing.
