Scholarship and Operating Endowment Gifts

Through the generosity of individuals and foundations, gifts to named scholarships and the general scholarship fund provide the opportunity for qualified students to receive financial assistance to attend Notre Dame de Sion School. It is part of our Mission to support a diverse student population, which includes socio-economic diversity.

In the 2011-12 school year, Sion has awarded over $667,000 in need-based tuition assistance to 21.5% of our grade school and high school students. With tuition increasing every year, the number of financial assistance applicants continues to increase. We have seen an even greater increase for the coming year as the effects of the current economic situation are experienced by members of our Sion Community.

There are numerous opportunities to support scholarship and endowments at Sion including:

  • Storm Stomp - the student run three-on-three basketball tournament which funds the Storm Stomp Scholarship
  • Half-way to St. Patrick?s Day event which benefits the Colleen Conway Holloway ’90 Scholarship fund.

Legacy Club

The Legacy Club is chaired by Augie Huber and Andrea Eddy ’82. You may join the Legacy Club by requesting your donation to be designated to the Legacy Fund at the following levels:

*Lifetime Membership ? Donors have a cumulative giving history to the Legacy Club totaling $10,000 or more.
*Circle of Excellence - $1,000 - $9,9999
*Charter Level - $500- $999
*Supporting Level - Under $499

 

Storm Stomp

Storm Stomp is a student-run three-on-three basketball tournament open to any 8th grade girl in the city, current high school students, Notre Dame de Sion alumnae, faculty and staff. Tournament proceeds support the Storm Stomp Scholarship Fund which provides financial assistance for qualified high school students. The date for the 2011 event raised over $28,000 for the Storm Stomp Scholarship fund.

 

Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party and Auction

This event held in mid-September and benefits the Colleen Conway Holloway ’90 Scholarship. The 2011 event raised over $20,000 for this scholarship fund.
