Welcome

From the Advancement Team

As an independent Catholic school, Sion does not receive financial support from the Diocese, Sisters of Sion, city or state. Fulfilling our motto to EDUCATE MINDS, EXPAND HEARTS, EMPOWER LIVES takes the generous support of our alumnae(i), parents, students, parents of alums, faculty/staff and friends. The Advancement Team works closely with the Sion community to implement the strategic plan for fundraising activities at Sion.

Each year the Board of Trustees designs a budget in which the tuition charged does not cover the total operating expenses of the school. The Board of Trustees structures the budget in this manner to keep the cost of tuition down, providing the opportunity for a broader socio-economic population to attend the school. This operating shortfall must be covered through three annual funding initiatives: Annual Fund Drive, Gala Auction and Fall Festival.

In addition to annual fundraising, scholarship and endowment fundraising efforts continue to increase our endowment and sponsorship opportunities for those students who desire a Sion education but cannot afford the full cost of tuition.

The Building on Excellence - A Blueprint for the Future Capital Campaign Phase IV construction was completed in February 2012. Over $10.3 million has been raised to fund the brick and mortar investments in our physical plant. Fundraising continues for future phases of the Capital Campaign.

You are invited to participate in fundraising activities at Sion. By contributing your gifts of time, talent and treasure, you are supporting the Mission of Sion and the great work that is happening in our classrooms. I invite you to learn more about the Advancement opportunities at Sion and how you can support Sion.

Sincerely,
Celeste Migliazzo Greenlee
