½ Way to St. Patrick’s Day Party and Auction:   Saturday, September 10, 2011

StPatThis annual event benefits the Colleen Conway Holloway Scholarship at Notre Dame de Sion School.  Colleen Conway Holloway, Class of 1990, passed away on July 13, 2004 from ovarian cancer.  Colleen was 32 years old and just beginning to start her life, having been married only a short 14 months.

As a fifth- and third-grade teacher at Nativity Parish Grade School, she touched many children’s lives.  After her death many students have relayed their memories of Mrs. Holloway and what a positive early influence she had on their lives.

In order to keep Colleen’s spirit alive, her family has created a scholarship at Sion, to benefit a young woman who shares some of the same qualities that Colleen exhibited in her brief life.  This scholarship is awarded to a qualified, college bound junior who is seeking a career in teaching or education; that has a commitment to faith, friends and family, and contributes to the school spirit of Sion.
