Peer Ministry

The benefit of ministry in an all-girls' high school is "permission to speak freely" with peers who understand the challenges and blessings of being a female teen in the 21st century. Our Peer Ministers receive training during Junior year at Sion and complete an extensive application process including an interview with the Director of Campus Ministry.

Qualified applicants demonstrate self-respect, respect for others and an appreciation for the presence of God in all that has been created by God. Peer Ministers are young women striving to be in the right relationship with God and with the people of God, "modeling the way" in word and deed.

Humility, integrity, compassion and the ability to listen and provide a space for the freshman student to discover her own inner wisdom are hallmarks of a Peer Minister at Sion.

Peer Ministers will meet monthly with their small groups of freshman students. The meetings include a shared meal, prayer and conversation about life at Sion which may include tips for staying on top of studying, making new friends, staying grounded in faith and taking advantage of the opportunities for service offered through the Service Learning program.

For more information about the peer ministry program at Notre Dame de Sion School or for details about applying to be a peer minister, please visit the high school Campus Minsitry webpage.
