Tuition and Financial Assistance

Notre Dame de Sion is committed to providing a superior education at an affordable price. The Sion Board of Trustees establishes an annual tuition, which represents only a portion of the cost of educating each student. Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year is $9950.00.

Financial Assistance

To be eligible for assistance, parents, or guardians must demonstrate financial need by completing a Parents’ Financial Statement, which is available the day of the admissions interview. Each year through the generosity of alumni, parents, students and friends, Sion is able to offer financial assistance to students who might not otherwise be able to afford a private education. About 20% of Sion students receive some form of financial assistance. Any student entering the ninth through the twelfth grade is eligible to apply.

Financial assistance application forms will be available at a family’s interview following test taking and completion of application. Forms are available to returning families in February. The forms should be completed and mailed to the Notre Dame de Sion Business Office for review by the Finance Committee. Financial assistance decisions should be mailed to families meeting the filing deadline by early June.
Since financial situations can change from year to year, it is necessary for families to reapply each year. for financial aid. Applications are processed in the order they are received. Grants are awarded on the basis of need and the availability of funds.

The policy for determining the financial need of students is based on the principle that both parents are responsible for the support and educational expenses of their children to the extent that they are financially able to assume responsibility. That principle applies to all parents, including those who are separated or divorced; therefore, both the custodial and the noncustodial parent must submit separate financial aid forms.

All families are welcome to apply for financial assistance. Notre Dame de Sion is committed to enrolling students that reflect a diverse socio-economic, geographic, ethnic, and religious background.
