January 2012

Feast Day Celebration and Mass • January 20, 2012

All Sion students from grade preK-12 will gather together at the grade school to celebrate Mass. Student will also celebrate Sion's "birthday" with special treats and activities throughout the day.

Women of Sion Retreat • January 21, 2012

All alumnae, faculty, mothers of students & mothers of our alumnae are invited to participate in the second annual retreat. The theme will coincide with the centennial celebrations: "Remembering our past, affirming our present, stepping forward into the future".

 

February 2012

Taking a Closer Look at Sion •  February 3, 2012

Sion grade school students will hear the history of Sion in Kansas City over the past 100 years as told by life-long Sion teacher and author of the 100th Anniversary book, Angela Fasci.

“Hearts Bigger than the World” • February 14, 2012

Sion grade school students will reach out to others beyond our school community: the Intermediate Level will host a Valentines’ party for Bishop Spencer Center;  Primary hosts students from Children's’ Place; Montessori assisting animal shelter; Middle School packing personal care kits for homeless through Project Uplift.

March 2012

Lenten Almsgiving • March 2, 2012

The grade school will participate in a School Wide Day of Service as an expression of gratitude and re-commitment to serving KC – agencies will be researched and selected by Middle School Maisons.

 

April 2012

Holy Thursday Retreat • April 5, 2012

Grade school students will celebrate "Jerusalem Day" with the Interfaith Alliance from the high school.

100th Anniversary Luncheon: Sion through the Generations • Saturday, April 21, 2012

	Join other alumnae and mothers at the Hilton President Downtown Kansas City for a celebratory luncheon featuring guest speaker Angela Fasci.

Sion in the Arts • May 4, 2012

The grade school will celebrate the arts with a gallery opening, recitals, and a musical production of 101 (make that "100" for Sion's 100th anniversary) Dalmatians.

 

August 2012

Young Alums Happy Hour• TBA

The Alumnae Association Board will host a special happy hour in honor of the school’s centennial. Stay tuned for details.
